The UK aims to curtail the number of people entering its country by approximately 300,000.

• Salary threshold increase for skilled workers:
  The minimum salary threshold for UK skilled worker visas will increase from 26,200 to 38700 per year, with health and care workers exempted.

• Shift from shortage occupation list (SOL):
  The government plans to replace the existing Shortage occupation list (SOL) with an immigration salary list. This will eliminate the 20% discount to the minimum salary for roles in shortage occupations.
• Dependent restrictions for postgraduates:
  Foreign postgraduate students on non-research courses will no longer be able to bring family members to the UK.
• Review of graduate visa: The graduate visa which allows international graduates to stay in the UK for an additional two years post-study is currently under review.
