Important Update: 3 Key Changes in USA Visa Passport Collection from August 2025

Effective 1st August 2025, the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in India are implementing an important change in the passport collection procedure for non-immigrant visa applicants.

🔍 What’s Changing?

  1. Discontinuation of Third-Party Passport Collection:
To enhance security, representatives or third-party agents will no longer be allowed to collect passports/documents on behalf of applicants.
  2. In-Person Passport Collection:
All applicants must now collect their passport or documents in person from the designated collection center.
  3. Special Case – Minors Under 18:
Passports for applicants below 18 years of age must be collected by a parent or legal guardian. A printed original consent letter signed by both parents is mandatory. Scanned or emailed copies will not be accepted.

📦 Optional: Home Delivery Service

If you wish to avoid visiting the collection center, the embassy provides a convenient passport home delivery option for a nominal fee of ₹1200 per applicant.
